Minimal & Modern DIY Wall Christmas Tree

If you’re looking for a minimal and modern Christmas tree, our DIY wall Christmas tree might be your perfect holiday idea. Made from firefly or fairy lights, it’s a space-saving, budget-friendly, and show-stopping option. You can use it as your main tree or add it to your home as an extra decoration.

Here’s a quick and easy tutorial on how to make a DIY wall Christmas tree:

To get started, you’ll need a few supplies. We chose Command Hooks, which can be used on both windows and walls and release after the holiday without causing damage. You can find them on Amazon.

Next, you’ll need firefly or fairy lights. These are different from regular string lights, as they’re on a thin copper wire, allowing them to bend around the hooks. They’re also difficult to see during the day, making them perfect for a window decoration. We used a large, 300-foot string that we had previously and ran it back and forth several times. You can use a smaller string if you prefer, and it depends on the size of the Christmas tree you want to create.

We love this light tree. It takes up no floor space and, when placed in a window, doubles as outdoor Christmas decor. You can make this tree however you want, large or small, wall or window, colored lights or white. You could even use a thin garland of faux greenery first, then string the lights for a more traditional “tree” look.

And here’s a photo from the outside of our condo, showing how it looks to all our neighbors. We love how it shares the holiday spirit with everyone who walks by!
